It is the first 3/8" master set to include the 17mm hex ratchet, and it extends the 3/8" DAD range well beyond the individual sets, from 4mm through 19mm, 1/8" through 3/4", T20 through T70, and a full M8 through M18 triple square run on a single drive size.

Drive tools and adapters (4)

• DFRB1090: 17mm Hex Standard Flex Head Low-Profile Ratchet. Engages each DAD bit directly on its external 17mm hex through a pass-through retention cavity, for a combined height of just 27mm (1-1/16").
• DDB17A: 17mm Hex Drive to 3/8" Square Drive Adapter. Lets the low-profile ratchet run standard 3/8" drive sockets and accessories.
• DDC17A: 17mm Hex Drive to 1/2" Square Drive Adapter. Extends the ratchet to 1/2" drive sockets and accessories.
• LPBSA: 3/8" Drive Spinner Adapter. Fast finger tightening and loosening before and after final torque.

Everything is packaged in a durable GripEdge case with a foam insert for clean organization, quick inventory checks, and fast resets.

The engineering behind the grip

• RPT™ tooth geometry that loads inward. Standard drivers concentrate stress on the fastener corners and push material outward until the recess rounds. The RPT™ profile relocates the contact point along the flank and directs force inward, forming a mechanical lock. Torque transfers into the fastener rather than around it, providing up to 50% more grip on new fasteners and up to 400% more grip on damaged ones across hex, star, and triple square profiles.
• Dual Action Drive. Every bit runs on either a 3/8" square drive tool or its external 17mm hex. Drive it with the included flex head ratchet, a standard 3/8" ratchet, or a 17mm combination wrench when nothing else will fit.
• 27mm low-profile length with full-length tips. Material is removed from the driver body rather than the tip, so each bit stays just 1-1/16" (27mm) long overall while most sizes keep full-length tip geometry for deep, secure fastener engagement.
• Purpose-built ratchet. The DFRB1090 uses a reversible 90-tooth mechanism with a 4 degree swing arc for control in confined spaces, a non-locking 0 to 180 degree flex head, and a flush-mount direction switch. The 10" body gives everyday leverage, and the gear assemblies and flex joint are field serviceable with repair kits available.
• One system, wider reach. The hex-to-square adapters put standard 3/8" and 1/2" sockets on the low-profile ratchet, and the spinner speeds run-down and removal. The ratchet becomes the center of a compact 3/8" system rather than a single-purpose tool.
• Material and marking. One-piece S2 tool steel construction with a zinc phosphate finish for strength, torsional rigidity, and corrosion resistance, with large laser-etched size markings for fast identification.
